Care instructions
Keep the amulet dry and protect it from prolonged humidity, direct sunlight, perfume, household chemicals, excessive heat and physical impact. Handle it with clean, dry hands and store it in a clean, dry and elevated place when it is not being worn. Do not use chemical cleaners, metal polish or abrasive materials. Natural ageing, surface variation and traces of traditional manufacture are part of the amulet's history and should not be removed.
Wearing and respectful handling
Thai sacred amulets should be treated as objects of faith rather than ordinary fashion jewellery. When practical, wear or carry the amulet above the waist. Do not place it on the floor, beneath footwear, inside a trouser pocket, among rubbish or unclean objects, or anywhere it may be sat or stepped on. Remove and store the amulet respectfully before sexual intimacy. It is also advisable to remove it before bathing, swimming, strenuous exercise, or activities involving excessive moisture, chemicals, heat, bodily fluids or physical impact. Do not deliberately wear or display the amulet while engaging in violence, theft, sexual misconduct, intoxication, illegal conduct, deception or actions intended to harm others. When not in use, keep it clean, dry and elevated. If the amulet is no longer wanted, do not discard it casually. Consult a Thai temple, knowledgeable custodian or appropriate religious community. Customs may differ between temples, teachers and lineages. Any specific instructions associated with the issuing temple or monk should take precedence.
